I was supposed to be outside today but the rain had other plans. So here is your next episode of the Plant People Podcast a few days earlier than expected! This month I had the privilege of speaking with Amber Deane of the Deanstead, a homestead in the Texas Hill Country. Amber lives there with her partner, and they own a leather business together.

In the cast we discuss how homesteads can be a locus of learning and community, and we also talk about some of the very basic ideas involved in homesteading. We talk about gardening techniques and Amber’s favorite plants to grow. I have a really fun time talking with Amber, and I hope you have fun listening.

The cast ends with a track by Sparkshimmer. Information about where you can find that track, Amber Deane, and some resources about the topics we covered will be in the show notes. Enjoy!
